CHRISTMAS WITH FREEDOM

Sometimes the greatest learning environments are found outside of the classroom.

Freedom College exists to help train Kingdom-minded leaders to know God, find freedom, discover purpose, and make a difference.
We offer an affordable alternative to the traditional university experience. It prepares students to embrace their calling from God and navigate their future confidently. Partnering with Southeastern University (SEU) in Lakeland, Florida, Freedom Church hosts the Freedom College instructional site on its Bel Air, Maryland campus, which provides students with flexible degree programs in person and online through SEU. This unique partnership and educational offerings between SEU and Freedom College combine a solid biblical foundation with practical, hands-on ministry training and experience to equip students for diverse roles within churches, Christian organizations, and in the marketplace. Academic Programs

By taking college courses through Southeastern University, a regionally accredited university by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degree programs, you will build a solid biblical foundation coupled with our ministry tracks to provide practical experience and marketplace skills across multiple areas of ministry.

The Certificate Program is a customized, immersive, one-year internship experience designed to equip students for ministry. The goal of this program is for the student to experience ministry event planning, staff meetings, Sunday gatherings, groups, exclusive classes, and more. Students will be brought “behind the curtain” of Freedom Church’s day-to-day inner workings. They will graduate with a certificate of ministry training as well as a portfolio of completed projects.

All Associate, Bachelor, and Certificate students complete a practicum every semester. The practicum requires students to complete 100 hours of approved, documented ministry experience over the course of 12 weeks. Examples of approved experiences include: serving at Sunday gatherings or events, attending leadership lab, working on a ministry project, or leading a community group. Toward the end of a degree program, students have the opportunity to specialize their field of training to a specific track: Pastoral, Creative Arts, or Next Generation.

  • Pastoral: This track focuses on the many different facets of pastoral ministry within the church, including groups, care, speaking, coordination, leadership, outreach, and discipleship. Students within this track can narrow their focus of pastoral ministry to a specific category and will be paired with one of the pastoral staff members who will help develop their skills.
  • Creative Arts: This track focuses on the many different facets of creative arts within the church, including production, worship arts, and social media. Students in this track can narrow their focus on creative arts to a specific category and will be paired with one of the Creative Arts staff members who will help develop their skills.
  • Next Generation: This track focuses on the many different facets of Next Generation ministry within the church, including Freedom Kids, 56, Freedom Youth, and Freedom Young Adults.   Students within this track can narrow their focus on Next Gen ministry to a specific category and will be paired with one of the Next Gen staff members who will help develop their skills.
