Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 9, 2026  ·  Last updated: June 9, 2026

Freedom Church (“Freedom Church,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website (myfreedom.org), our text-messaging program, and other ways you connect with our church, how we use it, and the choices you have.

By using our website, providing your information, or opting in to receive text messages from us, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Who we are

Information we collect

We collect information that you choose to provide and limited information collected automatically when you use our website. This may include:

  • Contact information — your name, mobile phone number, email address, and mailing address.
  • Communications — the content of messages you send us, including prayer requests, connect cards, and text messages.
  • Engagement details — events you register for, groups you join, and your messaging preferences.
  • Giving information — if you donate, payment is processed by our third-party giving provider; we do not store full payment card numbers.
  • Website usage — basic technical data such as your device type, browser, and pages visited, collected through cookies and analytics tools.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Communicate with you about services, events, ministries, and community life;
  • Respond to your prayer requests, questions, and connect cards;
  • Send text messages you have asked to receive (see the section below);

SMS / Text Messaging Program

Text messaging (SMS) terms & privacy

Freedom Church offers an optional text-messaging program so members and guests can receive updates such as service and event reminders, ministry and group announcements, prayer follow-ups, and occasional giving reminders. The terms below apply specifically to that program.

How you opt in (consent)

We only send text messages to people who have given us their express consent. You may opt in by:

  • Texting a keyword — for example texting [KEYWORD, e.g. JOIN] to [your 10DLC number] — to receive recurring ministry, event, and service updates;
  • Submitting our “Get in Touch” contact form or a connect card and providing your mobile number, in which case we may text you in reply to your message; or
  • Verbally providing your mobile number to a staff member or volunteer with the understanding that you will receive texts.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of attending, volunteering, donating, or participating in any Freedom Church activity.

Message frequency & rates

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Freedom Church does not charge for text messages.

How to opt out or get help

You can cancel the text-messaging program at any time by replying STOP to any message. After you reply STOP, we will send a one-time confirmation and you will not receive further texts unless you opt in again. For help, reply HELP or contact us at (410) 420-1011 or info@myfreedom.org.

How we protect your mobile information

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information you share when opting in to text messaging — including your mobile phone number and your consent — is used only to operate Freedom Church’s own messaging program. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties other than the licensed messaging providers and carriers we use to deliver the messages on our behalf, and those providers are not permitted to use your information for their own marketing.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. By participating, you agree that text messages may be sent using an automated system, and you confirm the mobile number you provide is yours.

How we share information

Freedom Church does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing. We share information only in these limited situations:

  • Service providers who help us operate — such as our website host, email and text-messaging platforms, and giving processor — and only as needed to provide those services to us;
  • Legal requirements, when we are required to respond to a valid legal request or to protect the safety of others; and
  • With your direction, such as when you ask to be connected with a ministry leader or group.

As stated above, mobile opt-in information and SMS consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

Cookies and website analytics

Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working properly and to understand how visitors use it. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, though some parts of the site may not function as intended.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information and limit access to those who need it to serve you.

Children’s privacy

Our website and text-messaging program are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided information to us may contact us to have it removed. Children may participate in church ministries under the supervision and consent of a parent or guardian.

Your choices and rights

You may, at any time:

  • Opt out of text messages by replying STOP, or unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email;
  • Ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you; and
  • Ask questions about how your information is used.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We will respond as promptly as we reasonably can.
